We must keep trying and ask ourselves what would Jesus do.

It is even harder in this world now to love our neighbor, because sometimes we do not even know our neighbor. Like Jesus, we must do more, be more and say more to connect with all those around us, related to us or not. This is the greatest of two commandments, simple to say but hard to live.

Keep on going Father Ed....we need you in our lives.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2514529524983639875.post-75244005088248708352014-10-25T11:36:30.197-04:002014-10-25T11:36:30.197-04:00Like JoyF, I too appreciate the Matador's comm...Like JoyF, I too appreciate the Matador's comments. I think at times we can even sense the evidence of this truth in our relationships. Just as the Matador described what it's like when we have a "problem", I think the connection of love of neighbor and love of God is sometimes also detectable at moments of joy and peace with others. Those are the times that remind us that the Kingdom really is here and now - and not yet. Both experiences - times of "problems" and times of joy and peace - are good reminders of the truth of this, and how important it is to reconcile all along the way. As previous Matador reflections have taught, that's a necessary part of the journey for God to one day be all in all!FatCatnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2514529524983639875.post-35924726388385522972014-10-25T09:20:14.614-04:002014-10-25T09:20:14.614-04:00Yup, yup, yup! And I have grown in my life's experience since your time in teaching us at this parish, blessed be God in you, Father!

Deeper prayer, daily quiet, is the requirement for me to be open to realize more. I've come to realize that I am related to every person I meet… and I try to respond to that awareness… Sometimes I am too distracted within myself to realize it, but I realize it more and more that everyone is related to me, that we all have something to share with one another and share in with one another. Sometimes it is verbal, sometimes it is just being present. It is always about listening. In traffic, it is not about cars, it is about people… Out and about, it is not about crowds, it is about people…. And it's all about the Lord.

Keep preaching it, Father, we all keep growing in it… even though most of the time I'm sure it is not all that evident.JoyFurallenoreply@blogger.com
