Get into the ring! How this works...

This is easy! Each week on Thursday I post my homily idea...my main focus for preaching this coming Sunday. What I am hoping for is a reaction from people in the pews. Does my "focus" connect with your daily life, faith, and experience? Or not? Either affirm the direction I am going in (by giving me an example from your life) or challenge me, ask for clarification! Questions are the best! Reaction rather than reflection is what I'm looking for here. Don't be afraid, get in the ring. Ole!

April 5 Easter Sunday Prep

-This Sunday's Scriptures can be found at www.usccb.org/readings
-I will be celebrating Easter mass this weekend at 9:30am in the Hall and 12:30 in the Church

Triumph over death

The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is not only a miracle revealing Jesus as the son of God but it has changed the powers and principalities reigning in our world. Death and the powers and principalities of death reign in the world. In Jesus Christ risen from the dead we have triumphed over death, Death has no more power over us, and we now can live in his life which is freedom.

Have you been released from the powers of death?

This reminds me of our own Baptism with Christ, Son of the living God, as we were buried with Him in baptism; we shall rise with Him; alive to God for ever.

I feel His reign; His power in our world in particular in this holy time of Easter; feeling the whole world being cleansed and purified by His Death and Resurrection; living in His freedom with Him as daughters and sons of the Father.

Glory be to God!

Happy Easter!

Miracle, yes ... And not a one-shot deal as most people think & live. Resurrection & alleluia is daily & in every venue of our lives! Whether I feel it or not, the Alleluias resound, and plenty of times I have to remind myself of my "I do" recalling the strength & vigor of all the people the world over saying "I do" ! Living the reality of resurrection is a freedom & joy that our Lord won for us, that is lived daily with our "I do".
