This is easy! Each week on Thursday I post my homily idea...my main focus for preaching this coming Sunday. What I am hoping for is a reaction from people in the pews. Does my "focus" connect with your daily life, faith, and experience? Or not? Either affirm the direction I am going in (by giving me an example from your life) or challenge me, ask for clarification! Questions are the best! Reaction rather than reflection is what I'm looking for here. Don't be afraid, get in the ring. Ole!

I can so relate to Peter’s reaction of wanting to prevent pain and suffering of his dear friend and teacher – and then also to prevent risks to his own life which led him to denying Jesus just prior to his crucifixion. But as you say, Matador, the faith of Peter and the others was eventually transfigured. Eventually they learned that to follow the way of Jesus was to die as they lived – to die to self as they lived for others. It seems like a lesson that has to be relearned nearly each day, because the world continually tries to pull us in the direction of self-interest. But when we can make the life of the entire Body of Christ our primary concern, the rest falls into place. When we “listen to Him” and consider all He taught us with His words and by His life, we come to understand the beauty of self-donation – and how that does indeed reject and stifle the works of Satan.
Preach it, Priest! It is the rare bird that would take this life or death. We can serve God just as well either way. If Christ would walk into St. Albert's and say, I want you to come with me NOW, to your eternal dwelling, how many would RUN???
Pope Francis has it right... We do not believe in the Resurrection and because of that we don't LIVE Heaven now, we don't LIVE the LIFE and DEATH and RESURRECTION NOW. In all the little situations of life. Love the Easter Vigil Exultet...
What good would life have been to us, had Christ not come as our Redeemer?
What good is this life without Christ? Christ makes sense of suffering and sin and pain and death. When I hear people saying this life is it, there is no after life, make the most of it now, get all you can out of it, enjoy & do whatever you want, yikes, I think of how dismal this life must be at the end of most days! And how HARD and SENSELESS it is when sickness or age or suffering eventually come around.
Love this from Cor... If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are the MOST PITIABLE people of all. I think that's where MOST OF US are at. Pitiable! Too, too bad when the Resurrection is for all.
