This is easy! Each week on Thursday I post my homily idea...my main focus for preaching this coming Sunday. What I am hoping for is a reaction from people in the pews. Does my "focus" connect with your daily life, faith, and experience? Or not? Either affirm the direction I am going in (by giving me an example from your life) or challenge me, ask for clarification! Questions are the best! Reaction rather than reflection is what I'm looking for here. Don't be afraid, get in the ring. Ole!

The smart wording of this question, “How are you doing what you are doing?” has stuck with me since reading the Matador’s reflection and then was further reinforced after hearing the homily. Not only did it make fresh sense of the Gospel and reminded me of the temptation for complacency, but this question easily fits into a self-examination of my day as I go about my tasks. I find I am appreciating the cleverness of it as it stays with me and helps me assess my work at building the Kingdom.
